News - A franchisee of Subway Restaurants contributed to Yes on Prop 8

But the corporate office makes good!
In brief, a franchisee of Subway donated $2,500 to the Yes on Prop 8 campaign. After the donation was discovered, activists contacted the corporate office and asked for three things:
- Repudiate the franchisee’s gift
- Make a gift in the same amount to an organization fighting for true equality
- Immediately add sexual orientation and gender identity to the corporation’s non-discrimination policy.
Subway did all three and also sent out a letter to all its franchisees letting them know it was not appropriate for the franchise to make a donation to a political cause.
