About
Marriage equality. Same-sex marriage. Gay marriage. No matter how you name it, it’s not about marriage.
It’s about equal treatment under the law.
The founders of the United States of America believed in equal rights: that all people are created equal and should have equal access and recourse under the law. Constitutionally, we are not a country that believes in second-class citizens. Our national Constitution, which is the entire foundation of both our government and legal system, instructs our government to apply the value of equality of all citizens to its legal transactions with those citizens.
Our government isn’t doing that, and it’s wrong.
